Portglenone to Drumoolish and Bellaghy Loop Cycle Route

Distance 18.48 miles

Starts/End Location: Main Street (A42) Portglenone

This is a road route that, except for a short ride on A roads at the start and finish, is mainly on country roads. The route is also mostly on flat ground, with not many hills.

Portglenone loop around Aughnacleagh Cycle Route

Distance 13 miles

Start/End Location: Townhill Road, Portglenone

This is an enjoyable road route on the B96 and country roads, which mostly flat but has some uphill and downhill. The route is quite rural with not much traffic.

Toome to Portglenone

Overall Distance 15 miles. (Toome to Newferry 6.5 miles; Newferry to Portglenone 8.5 miles)

This 15 mile northerly spur links Toome to Portglenone via the eastern side of Lough Beg. Coming close to the River Bann at Newferry at the site of a former crossing point, the route continues to rise slowly to Limnaharry with its views over the lough and on in to Portglenone. This section is part of the proposed NCN route alongside the River Bann which will link to Coleraine. The route on the western side of Lough Beg is unsigned and passes from Portglenone to Toome via Bellaghy.
